KP 7 / KP7
Het zevende kaderprogramma voor Onderzoek en Technologische Ontwikkeling (kaderprogramma 7) bevat alle Europese onderzoeksinitiatieven onder een gemeenschappelijk dak om de inspanningen voor de werkgelegenheid, groei en concurrentievermogen in Europa te versterken. Het is een aanvulling op de PIC (Programma voor concurrentievermogen en innovatie) en onderwijs en opleiding en de structuurfondsen.
Dit is het belangrijkste instrument voor de financiering van onderzoek in de EU op Europees niveau, voor de periode 2007-2013. De begroting voor zeven jaar is 50,5 millliards € en het Euratom budget voor de periode 2007-2012 is 2,7 miljard €
KP7 steunt onderzoek in geselecteerde prioritaire sectoren, met de doelstelling de EU de hoogste positie te behouden in de betrokken sectoren.
